Wood Rotting Fungi

Skirting board attacked by brown wet rot. Also attacked by weevil beetles.
Here we have a skirting board, completely destroyed by a brown rot and also weevil beetles. The timber has formed a rot and has been attacked by wood-boring beetles (woodworm) due to being in contact with damp walls and a damp floor in a basement flat in Tufnel Park, North London.

Suspended Timber Floor

Many of the floor boards and timbers at sub-floor level have also been completely destroyed. This is because they were in contact with the damp walls, earth and also the sub-floor void was almost non existent due to the sub-floor ground levels not being deep enough.
